60 Second Interview with...

Lucile Kamar

Head of Diversity & Inclusion, ITN

1. What do you see as the biggest blocker when tackling vulnerability in the UK?

A: I believe that one of the biggest blockers is the lack of “fluency” in people having the right language and not yet feeling comfortable discussing vulnerability at work, with their peers, or families.

2. What one piece of advice would you give to a company that is trying to improve their support for vulnerable customers?

A: Do not underestimate the importance of spending time listening and educating ourselves on the specific needs of vulnerable customers.

3. What is the most common type of vulnerability you are seeing in your industry?

A: Across industries, there has been a rise for a great need of mental health and wellbeing support for all.

4. Without giving too much away, what two things will delegates learn from your session?

A: Delegates will understand what the current challenges of building more diverse and inclusive workplaces are- and how to overcome them, as well as how they can demonstrate empathy and vulnerability to create a feeling of belonging.
